About Autism Communication Support at Tap Type Talk
For years, my son couldn't talk at all. He learnt to use an NHS-funded speech device at the age of five, which he still uses today.
I was desperate to understand why he couldn't talk, and secured an adapted speech assessment on the NHS, which resulted in a speech disorder diagnosis: Childhood Apraxia of Speech—this unlocked access to intensive speech therapy sessions.
Today, at the age of 12, he can now say many words using his mouth, and still uses his trusty speech device, nicknamed Monty, wherever he goes.
My expertise in supporting my son inspired my popular Facebook blog page, Tap Type Talk, and now my business, where I help other families who are looking for support and information about communication solutions and some friendly, parent-led, professional guidance.
